Michael is a transman who transitioned later in life, and met his wife Lillian during his transition. After realizing the need for more localized support systems for the trans community, he founded TransMentors International. Michael is actively involved in several local trans-related groups and organizations, including co-moderating a local "co-ed" trans support group, and is a Board member at PFLAG Phoenix. He and his wife provide temporary safe housing in their home for trans-identified people in Phoenix, Arizona.
