FAITH-BASED SUPPORT

Often being a trans-identified man or woman brings the issues of spirituality and faith to the forefront, after trying unsuccessfully to repress these thoughts that have been influenced by the “negatives” in the mainstream faith communities.

Denominations and faith groups still struggle mightily over issues of sexuality and faith. Many of the modern faith communities have accepted and welcomed the gays and lesbians, and claim to welcome the spectrum of the LGBT community.

However, we find they are still struggling with the actual inclusion and understanding of the trans community. Gender identity is distinct from sexual orientation.

For those of us who were brought up in the mainstream fundamentalist churches, we’ve found it has become one of our biggest obstacles to peace in our journeys.

Whether you are from a Christian background or Buddhist, or Hindu, or Pagan, or just searching to find your place, if you are struggling with issues of acceptance and want to find some peace, we’re here for you.
